“You’re the one I need, You are my
home!”, said Alice
and flopped down in the middle of the puddle where the man’s body was lying.
The falling raindrops hammered loudly, sometimes painfully striking her but she
felt nothing, she just held her lover’s limp body tight. Her tears were lost
among the water droplets rolling down her face; the throbbing ruthlessness of
pain could only be seen in her distorted countenance. How could they do this to
her? How can life be so cruel that the angel that was given to her was now
taken back? What is this if not a sadist’s giant fist that clutches her heart
in the depths of her chest and with a mocking smile on his face, ruthlessly
plays with her as he pleases? Who does he think he is that he can just take her
love away from her any time he feels like it? She picked up the gun lying on
the ground; her hand wavering under its weight. She slowly lifted it in front
of her, placed her left hand under it and pointed it at the figure standing in
front of her.
“But that’s what you wanted”, said the
voice, but everything has been blurred for her. The words were just like quiet
humming, the woman in front of her looked like a dark shadow, a creature that
doesn`t belong in this dimension. Only one thought swirled and throbbed inside
her mind like wild ocean waves crashing against a rock: Kill her!
She looked down at the bodies lying on
the ground, carefully wiped off the gun and placed it next to the corpses. She
sighed heavily like someone who can finally breathe after a long endeavor. She
then looked at the man appearing on the other side of the street. She slowly
got up and walked to him. Her face showed agony again; her eyes became innocent
and weary.
“Please, help!” She shouted and grabbed
the stranger’s hand. “They shot each other.”
“And are you all right?” asked the man by
that time allowing Alice to nestle herself against his neck.
“I’ll be fine”, she whispered, and gazed
at the piece of glass lying on the ground. Her eyes flashed with desire, which
had grown to be more and more powerful.
